My Christmas Film

This year instead of sending out cards I have decided to make a Christmas film instead, so here it is. It took me just over 2months to achieve and was all done with hand drawn principles. The sound was created by my brother Jake who did a great job and the backgrounds were coloured in by my girlfriend Hannah Lott who is an illustrator and you check out her great work here : www.hannahlott.com.

The film was great fun to make and I am really happy with the result, it was worth all the stress! For better quality go to http://vimeo.com/33457170

Hope you like it and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Showreel 2011

Here is my new Showreel for 2011. I hope you like it. I have really enjoyed animating everything this year even if some of the projects were just a bit stressful. I just hope all the blood sweat and tears comes out in my work. Just click on my business card to access. Enjoy!

Happy To Bed Animation

This Ikea job was for their new advertising campaign 'Happy to bed'. I was lucky enough to work on the project and produced the secondary animation and all the textures in the final piece. The project was directed and based on the style of Alice Dupre. It was fun to do and the final result is a very quirky stylised piece that i'm sure will entice loads of people to buy more stuff from Ikea.

Advertising commercial for Willen Hospice

I was given an opportunity to do a couple of advertising commercials for Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes. The project was fun and allowed me to get my hands back on After Effects which was fun. They were simple animations but overall effective in showing the great work that Willen Hospice are doing.

Below is the 60 second version.

August 11 Second Club Entry

Finally last month I entered the 11 Second Club for the first time. It was some good dialogue but as for the karate sounds, well I could have done without them but oh well. I think I would have preferred just normal dialogue but hopefully I'll do it again and the clip wil be better.

Here is the final product which is up for voting on the 1st September at 5pm GST so vote for meeee please!

So here are some designs and roughs for the animation.

Whilst I was at VooDooDog I also made some props for a stop frame animation that they were producing. It is about the plastic that washes up on beaches all over the world, therefore all the props were made from pieces of washed up plastic. Recycling - doing my bit.

Below is the world made of plastic, some logo designs and plastic art.

Thursday 28 July 2011

I am currently doing some work for the great people at VooDooDog in London. This is a piece taken from the current project. I designed the characters and animated it all in the style of Miroslav Sasek. He is Czech artist who designed and wrote childrens books about the places he travelled. He is definatley worth a gander as his style is very stylised and he captures each place perfectly. http://www.miroslavsasek.com/

Below are some pictures of his work.

And here is the design work I did for the project and the final scene outcome.

A Tale of Two Kings - Work in Progress

Here are a few bits of rough animation and progress sketches from a little film that I am working on. There is a bit of sticking on the walkcycle that the exporting program made.
